Selecting the right builder is the first – and most critical – step you will take as you begin a project. Here are some important points to consider as you make that decision:

Check references and portfolio. When a builder or GC visits you at your home or your office, their presentation and portfolio (pictures from previous jobs) should be professional and high quality.

Trust your instincts. Don't be afraid to trust your gut feelings when meeting a builder and deciding whether to hire that company.

Don't buy on price alone. Do not be fooled by vendors who seem to be far less costly than other estimates you receive. As they say, if something seems to good to be true, it usually is.
