The Way of the Future:
Green Technology and Energy Star
In 1992, the US Environmental Protection Agency (epa) introduced the energy star® label program to identify energy-efficient products to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In 1995, they extended the label to residential heating and cooling equipment that meet the required specifications, and In 1996, they partnered with the US Department of Energy. As a result, the energy star label now encompasses office equipment, lighting, home electronics, appliances and more. The epa also extended the label to cover qualifying new and renovated homes, mixed use, commercial and industrial buildings.

Make Your Project Green
Not sure where to begin? We can get you started by guiding you through the design process. Our experienced staff can assist you, whether you have a specific goal already in mind or are still considering where to start.
VFP is able to develop preliminary layouts and cost estimates at costs dramatically lower than can be found by hiring an outside architect — not only allowing you to determine if a plan is feasible within your budget, but also enabling you to put those savings back into the project and make an even bigger impact.
The design stage typically requires two to four weeks after you meet with VFP to discuss your goals. Once plans are complete and the necessary permits have been secured, you are ready to begin construction.
